Origin of the surge morph.

In 2005 I acquired a wild caught yellow belly female. This female always made very blushed babies and they had an intense color. Through the years I always saved the best looking babies made from this original female for myself. At first I thought maybe the female wasn't a yellow belly, but instead something similar but in the same complex. After a few breeding's I realized that she was not only a yellow belly, but she was carrying this new exciting gene also.

Single gene surge

It took me a while to isolate the surge gene. The odds were always great in my favor and I hit the combos I wanted to make. I was able to make 5-6 gene combos before I was able to make a single gene surge. On it's own the surge does not look like much. The base is lighter in color than a typical wildtype, reduced in pattern, and has flames on its sides. When combined in combos it intensifies the color of the snake. It also causes large blushings to appear and will increase as the snake ages.
